This wall was never meant to be art.
It cracked slowly, honestly, with time, heat, rain, and neglect.
Every fracture marks years passing without announcement,
forming patterns no human hand could plan or repeat.
The surface carries the weight of age, not decay—
a texture born from patience, not intention.
Photographed by Sai during his journey,
this image holds the rustic pleasure of things that endure quietly.

ABOUT

Rustic Stories holds what time does not erase.
The marks left by ordinary lives.
The words that stayed.
The histories that continue to breathe.

Inside these ruins, sunlight is rare and earned.
The frame demanded waiting—camped stillness after a long trek.
When the light finally arrived, it came too strong, too sudden,
washing the scene beyond colour and control.
The photograph was shaped into black and white,
not as correction, but as respect for the architecture’s truth.
As tourists slowly wear these stones down,
this preserved moment stands as witness to what remains.

Where Stories Gathered

Rustic Stories — Bangalore

A familiar city, met slowly.
Friends, strangers, and passing moments coming together without rehearsal.

July 2024

Rustic Stories — Chennai

A first meeting, still unfolding.
Listening before speaking, and letting the place lead the story.

May 2025

Rustic Stories — Hampi

An open gathering shaped by weather, chance, and people who stayed longer than planned.
What remained was warmth, conversation, and shared attention.

The room is empty, yet full of presence.
Tools rest mid-task, a half-formed idol waits without impatience.
A tiffin carrier and tea glasses sit quietly on the table,
evidence of hands that stepped out for a short evening break.
Here, idols are shaped with care, clay and wood still trusted.
No machines interrupt the rhythm of making.
Such spaces are disappearing, replaced by speed,
and this photograph preserves a pause before that silence.
